does anyone know a good cosworth macanic in the south london area thanks

 

1 speedo cable snapped
2 speedo clock knackered (doubt it's this tbh)
3 speedo drive in the box is knackered!

Depending where in London you are I could have a look for you? As said 99% will be the cable

There is as said a very good likely hood it is the cable snapped.
Some replacement cables have a inner that is slightly too short, as it only engages around 3mm - 4mm in the gearbox drive part, despite the hole there being over 1"(25.4mm) deep, I found this on the last few cables I did, but supplier/maker was told, and said added 5mm.
