You mean you can't get the carrier off? Try spraying WD40 on it and leaving it to soak then try and get it off.

what car is it and what else have u taken off?
does it look like this

if so. do the top mount back up and then use a wooden chock or similar on the carrier and then carefull of paintwork bash it with a hammer and it should slowly slide off. if its really stuck soak it in wd40 or diesel.
then it should look like this just with TCA's etc still in place etc.

Awesome guys, thanks for the replies. I will soak it in WD40 and leave it over night, hopefully this will free it up. I'm only removing them as the guy I bought it off fitted the springs upside down in the koni adjustables!!! Got the car yesterday and i'm going over it with a fine toothed comb, hence all the questions.

WD40 won't help here, get a thick washer, or thin bit of flat metal.
Now after removing the clamp bolt holding the strut to the hub, put the bolt back in from the opposite side, it the THREADED side instead of the hole, now with the bit of metal/washer insert in the slit of the hub, so that as the bolt is wound in it hits the metal/washer, now when turning this bolt it opens up the slit and the hub will literally fall off.
Don't open as far as you can, just enough so it knocks off ok.
Yes you can use a chisel to widen the slit, but this is safer, and doesn't run the risk of hurting yourself if you miss with the hammer

I tried do to it but I couldn't get a washer in the gap even when trying to prise it open with a flat head screwdriver. In the end I got my blowtorch out and beat it with a hammer. Got there eventually! One more tick off my huuuge list of repairs.
