Cosworth compression strut questions....
Hey all,
Whats the score with compression struts on the sierra then? I've read plenty about them, mainly stuff I can imagine the E4 voice over bloke saying in his big voice.. 'Radically improves responsiveness and tarmac handling, etc'
So, do they? To fit them, you bin the OE front roll bar. Doesn't the car need that? I don't really understand. Have seen other peeps cars on here, and they have along with the struts, a forward mounted Grp A anti-roll bar with blades. Will this be vital from the off, or will the car drive ok just with the struts??
Cheers

I personally believe that it is better if some of your roll resistance comes from an antirollbar rather than relying solely on the springs as you end up having to have harder springs to compensate for the lack of an antirollbar.
So I would be inclined to only go with compression struts if using an antirollbar too, but lots of people have done it without and will tell you that it handles great etc, but I suspect they have never tried a truely well setup antirollbar based setup if they beleive that the antirollbar can bring nothing at all to the party to improve handling!

do a search on here mate have seen some other options that allow you to retain the rollbar without going the bladed route !!

I agree completely. I cannot understand how ditching the anti-roll bar and running without one could be an improvement.
Then onto my next question. How do the Grp A blades attach to the tca's. The one's I've looked at on the cars pictured on this forum that have themfitted look really trick. I've got compbrake adjustables but I can't see how I could fix a blade to them after the compression strut fills the hole. (such awesome terminology)
