hi jus got back from work after 5weeks away and thought id start up the cossie and take it for a blast, i put the battery on and some smoke started coming from 1 of the wires so quickly undone it the funny thing it was like the battery was totally dead cause nothing was working the alarm and not even the central locking, so i put another battery in and was fine started first time but when i took it up the road there was no brakes, basically when u turn the ignition on the pump isent coming on so brake pedal is rock solid at the top, and also the stereo has stopped working!

any help would be much appreciated!

 

Check the fuse that covers the stereo, check also the 30 amp green fuse on the abs relay at rear of glovebox.
