help needed have a mk3 2005 mondeo tdci 130 have just put new pads and disc,s on rear and front but when you use the handbrake it works ok but when you release it the handbrake levers on the calipers dont move so have to get under car and do it manually ,any one know,s if i need new cables or calipers have tried wd40 on them and spent around half an hr moveing them back and forth no joy grrrrrrrrrrrmany thanks all who try and help keep up the good work

 

calipers are siezed at a guess! need stripping and o/hauling

 

could be the cable sticking, try disconnecting it from caliper and moving it in and out of sleve,

 

calipers seem fine but the handbrake part dosnt go back when the handbrake is released do you know if putting a new spring on would solve the problem

 

the HANDBRAKE mechanism part of the caliper is siezing up so will need stripping to free up that's why it's not returning to the off position properly
