Default dizzy jackshaft problems help!!!!

hi just finished rebuilding my motor after my old block chucked the towel in (205)
in a nutshell finished putting it all together ,only to find that the distributor doesnt sit all the way flush to the block

and it gets worse , when i try to thighten the locking bolt for the dizzy it binds the aux wheel up tight ??
free it off a little and the aux wheel spins free but obviously then will eventually rotate the dizzy and fook everything up
now have took it all back apart to check and everything looks ok ... aux wheel does have a little play when rotating it .but only minute

dizzy cog looks fine as does the jackshaft and bearing

anyone got any ideas as im lost have bought a new jackshaft assbly and am now waiting for it to come !!

anyone seen this before ???

cheers for any suggestions car been garaged for last 2 yrs and now want it out

Is it a new engine build, did you disturb the OIL PUMP ?
Have seen it more than once, try it without the dizzy/oil pump driveshaft, bet it will be ok ?, if so the oil pump doesn't always sit 100% perfect on the dowel, and this gouges the alloy casing of the pump as it's tightened down, so a bit of fettling with a file to grind off mashed edge that sits around groove is all that needed on base of oil pump, only ever had to shorten 1 driveshaft.
The last one the dizzy would not turn, as the pump was seized due to not sitting 100% on the dowel, this jammed the drive part which goes through this dowel, so as the pumps jammed you can't rotate the dizzy as the shaft stops it.
Just make sure there are no flat sections on any of the teeth on the dizzy drive cog and jackshaft drive cog.
The dizzy drive cog is different to a pinto one, so can't use one of them if needed, but I have spares(a few), I always mod the dizzy top bush to oilite bush, as the crushed iron particle bush(std) is crap.

right just for anyone with same problem and using the search function

problem sorted was as tabetha stated dowel was holding oil pump housing slightly skewed
also fitted new jackshaft and aux wheel bearing in block ...combination of both has now sorted it .....
dizzy finally sits in flush to block and aux wheel spins freely when all bolted up
cheers tabetha
and note to anyone check before building motor up saves loads of grief
