Default 4x4 lost boost problem

Hi ponder if anybody can help, the car starts to boost up then drops

symptoms are like the the inlet boost hose is Compressing ie hose lost its
strength

i got the car warmed up today "STATIC" and when the revs hit about 3000

the dump valve starts blowing air out via up and down on the revs

is the dump valve fucked.as i carnt find any air leaks..apart from the dump leaking air out the side exits

how can i test for the problem

take the dump valve off and put something in the dump valve hole to block it and use a screw in the top thin hose and see if its better(for test purposes only)and if it is its your dump valve leakingi just changed the excat same dump valve sapphire 4x4 because it was fkd it was the exact same one as in your photoi put another one on and running great

How is the old girl Steve? I reckon is high time she came back to me for a checkover. (Maybe I miss her just a tiny little bit...)

Chances are its the dump valve. Remove ita nd block both hoses for the test, it will be fine to drive like that.

Oddly enough just this week received two spare diaphragms for my Collins group a dump valve, sometimes it leaked and lost boost, sometimes it jammed and chattered, sometimes it worked normal, and sometimes a bit of everything.
I took it apart, expecting to see a tiny hole, nothing to be seen, put back on ok for two days then playing up again, then ok ,then not etc etc.
It's defo the diaphragm/dump valve by the sounds of it, certainly shouldn't be releasing when stood still and level revs, my new diaphragms cost £20 for two, so not too bad.
