hi everyone just need some advice on how to remove the driveshafts from a ib5 gearbox on a sportka

 

Just lever them out.

 

lol thought it was harder then that haha.

 

They've got snap rings on the end which sit in a groove in the gearbox, they just need a short sharp wack with the palm of your hand on the lever.

 

As a hint, the right side is much easier to remove first with a lever or even two large screwdrivers from opposite sides. After that, the left one can be removed by tapping with a long pin from through the right shafts hole through the box.

 

am i right in thinking that i will lose all my gearbox oil?

 

Most of it, if you don't drain it first.

 

Try and remove as much as you can fella, you just need a sucky sucky thing through the filler hole.
