Default Cosworth very slow to heat up

hello again people, anyone got any ideas as to why my car takes a long time( maybe 20-25 mins at tickover to reach the point where the fan cuts in ) How long do cossies usually take to heat up?? Never seen this happen to another car. own the car for the last 2 year and done about 200 miles. always been like this. Also when driving it still never gets really warm maybe 60 degrees(new aftermarket gauge and sender, thought the original might be faulty but doesnt look like it). I'm assuming its the thermostat and have a new one ordered. could it be anything else??

Could still be the stat even when you put a new one in!!
I have had a lot of trouble over theyears with stats ok to start with then just not lasting getting cooler and cooler, although all perfect for a few weeks.
My last one a QH actually fell to bits whilst on the car, the centre pin came out and it wedged itself open!!
I now use WAHLER stats 88C even in summer, but am going to 92C before winter, they are around twice the price but do last oe kit on mercs beemers audi,vw etc, good german quality.
I would also do a flush by running wynns cooling system flush around for a few hundred miles to clear all the crap out, you will have to take ex tank off after and clean it out of the accumulated crap, but cleans brilliantly, then flush with water etc when doing new stat.
