Default ERST S2 Backfiring and possible Overboost? NEED HELP ASAP :D

Basically i think i know what the problem is guys but just need to check before i send it in.

Basically a while back my actuator rod clip snapped so the actuator wasnt working hence no boost.

It didn't matter because it was going into MSD in Bispham the following day for the setup.

They sorted it out and it felt great. I didn't really drive the car for a while and when i did never really ragged it or used full boost.

But when ive started driving it more (since its cold outside ), when it warms up and i boost to 14psi it cuts off and hits 0 revs and backfires sometimes.

If i stick to 10psi on my gauge in the car its fine.... However, i can hear and feel the turbo starting to boost at -4 psi

So.... no probs at 10psi..... as soon as i goes above it cuts off and doesn't boost.

Is the problem is that the car is overboosting and maybe when the actuator rod clip snapped and the rod came unattached from the wastegate, it maybe twisted causing psi to increase????

MSD wouldnt of known about this when the car was set up. They just set it up for a 14psi boost. Sometimes it will boost to 14psi and its fine for about 5 seconds and if i take my foot off the gas it will be fine. But if i boost for 10 seconds at 14(max) it will start to back fire and hit 0 revs and cut off.

Oh, when it went in for the setup MSD advised to get a new or reconned turbo soon.

Im no offay with cars so i hope i havent confused with my lack of knowledge and wordings.

Help would be appreciated

Thanks fellas.

i doubt it is chipped. standard ecu's normally cut on 12psi. i'd try and get hold of another ecu that u knows chipped just to 100% confirm ! but 99% positive thats what it is !
