what oil did you put in it?

what tempreture was the oil?

was it started and left to idle? or was this after a run?

what pump do you have? high pressure or normal?

it all makes a difference

Havent left it running long because i was worried it was too high and would do damage

Temp therefore was cold wasnt even reading on the gauge

oil is 5w 40

got the car from jay he seems to think it has a high pressure pump on it but other than that no idea

Would it be safe to drive round the block to see if it drops ?

firstly i'd change the oil for 10/50 (silkolene pro S is good)

the oil pressure needs to be taken when the oil is up to temp -

if its a high pressure pump then i dont think you have a lot to worry about - oil pressure is better than none at all

taken it for a run for 30 mins or so then see what it reads after that

I'd say it has a high pressure oil pump so nothing to worry about!

ps I NEVER fill mine to the max mark on the dip stick
