I am 99% sure they don't have such a thing as controlled totally by ecu.

Ah, ok mate thanks.
Does anyone have any idea what would make the car 'hesitate' at around 1500-2000 rpm? Have changed plugs, leads, TPS & ISCV. Goes down the road at cruising speeds like a kangaroo.

I would firstly clean the maf, then look at lambda readings, could be another tesco special.

Had it checked on gas analyser today:

Lambda = 1.01
CO = 0.15
HC = 54 ppm

Changed MAF and its still the same as before

Whilst at the garage i asked them to check the ecu for error codes but he couldnt get his snap on reader to communicate with the ecu, thats the second one now that wouldnt do it.

Also checked for air leaks and found nothing. Im running out of ideas.

Have you checked the "T" piece on the pcv system, as these always colapse.
Are you using BOSCH plugs ?

Thanks for the replies. Hope it isnt the block durka lol.
I have a spare coil pack so i'll swap that over tomorrow.
The plugs are Denso Iridium ITV16's. Where abouts is this 'T' piece tabetha?

Thanks again for all the input.

I just found this info on a TIS i borrowed...

"It is possible for some drivers to notice a shuffle/hesitation concern at between 1800 and 2000 rev/min created by the engine management strategy programmed into the powertrain control module. This can be resolved by removing the powertrain control module and installing a new module with a revised calibration"

Is the "Powertrain Control Module" basically the ECU??

Yes in other words.

You can try disconnecting the battery for about an hour or so which will reset the KAM and then go out for a drive with varied driving i.e. let the car warm up (drive sensibly) then moderate driving, then spirited driving then see how you get on.
