engine problem
hi all hope someone can shed some light on my engine prob
i have a t reg 1.8 tddi ford focus .the problem is:
first thing in morning or once its been stood at work all day it starts as soon as the glow light goes out but only runs on 3 pots lumpy and belts out white smoke but once normal operating temp is reached it kicks in on all four pots stops smoking and runs like a dream.ive had re con injectors put in and then it wouldnt bleed up so towed it to a garage who found 5 fault codes relating to fuel pump so 1200 pounds later and a new pump got car back and its just as before.its not using any oil or water to my knowledge please help thanks neil

Hi this sounds like the same problem i had on a mondeo there is a small solenoid on the throttle body (think its called a cold start solenoid) if it doesn't buzz when you turn the ignition on it's fooked. Mondeo was a v reg and had hundreds spent on it previous to me buying it, the solenoid cost Ł30 from fle bay! had exact symptoms as your focus.
Solenoid has small loom comming off it.
