Cars drivin me nuts!!
Thought id get a classic 80's car as i've had a 60's and then 70's...
i've not long done an oil change and all has been well but on the way home yest when at tick over the oil light started to flicker. the traffic was busy so it was stop start etc after a few stops it seemed to stay on a little longer than a flicker...got home checked the oil and its a little (2mm) above the max
Also I'm driving down the motorway doin 69-70 mph (honest officer) and when I put foot down turbo kicks in goes faster but then its like it floods as when i gently take my foot off it kinda speeds up (HOPE THIS MAKES SENCE)
and finally...not looked yet but is the gearbox oil change easy? as it whines a bit and i want to be sure its not just the oil before i invest in a recon
can anyone help me?
or does anyone live in the M43 area could come and have a go and tell me there thoughts?

gear box oil is designed to be drained, thats y majority of them have a plug on them, thats a load of bull, i always drain my gear box oil using a the plug which ITS DESIGNED FOR, its normally a allen key fitment, empty it all out and look at the colour of the oil, also if ya want feel for any grit or metal in the fluid, this would indicate if things are starting to fail, then what you do is top the gearbox oil back up with fresh new fluid, have the passenger side jacked up, and top it up till the oil dribbles out the drain hole, this will indicate sufficient oil in the gear box, oil pressure switch could be your problem but always whise doing a compression test on each cylinder, then compare them to a fords manual, but whilst car is jacked up you can check the oil pressure switch whilst your under there, its round the back of the block, if its covered in oil, clean it up and replace it, always worth while sticking a high grade oil in

From what I can gather it was in 05 by Norris motor sport, it has had a lot of work since...new pistons, gearbox (Boll0x) and inlet.. is there nowt you can adjust without putting on a rolling road?
p.s How much is a rolling road?

ive owned 3 of them and have a mate who has 2 of them, always worked on my car n i know for a fact that they have a drain plug on them, so before accusing and shouting your mouth off id check ya facts buddy, to the drain plug is a allen key fitment, which is to the right of the reverse sensor switch, cant miss it, you can always top it up from there, you saying you have to take a drive shaft out is ludacris and mad, and as for the oil pressure switch yeh i read wat i wrote, and i shall correct myself, id replace with a new one as they are cheap and easy to replace, tell tale sign of switch needing replacing is the oil thats surrounding it caused by a leak.
Now if im wrong bout the box ill stand corrected but ill lay any money that a rs turbo box has a drain plug

Yeah no drain plug, have to remove drive shaft.
Oil light on at idle is low oil pressure (obviously ), could be oil pressure switch these are only a few pound so get a new one, could be oil pump, but if it only does it when hot then it could be the big end shells, listen for bottom end knocking mate, if it's not now it might bee soon.
Rolling road is about £150 ish, no you cant adjust the fuelling yourself at least not with out a wide band lambda sensor and a AFR gauge (£300 minimum for a half decnet one).
The way you describe it it actually sounds to me like it's under fuelling on boost, if that is the case you risk a melt down!
So get it setup ASAP!!
