Default boost problem

my car was set up at 30psi boost, run like this for ages no probs, then suddenly the boost dropped to 24psi, had it reset back to 30, no probs for a few weeks then it went back up on its own to 36psi!
whats likely to be causing this? the actuator isnt very old, nor is the amal valve which I'd have thought were the most likely culprits!
Any other ideas/suggestions??

Just because the amal valve or actuator arn't old doesn't mean they cant be at fault, could be a management issue or the amal could be jetted incorrectly and have been damaged by high boost.
