Hi All,
My car now has everything from flashturbos fiesta XR2 Turbo. (this months Fast Ford Feature)
I had the car MOTd 2 days ago so took it for a spin and found the car to be running 21psi as opposed to the 14psi in the fiesta??
Nothing has been changed, the only part that has is the fact that i am running a Pace Chargecooler(not the huge intercooler from the fezza). I have just reduced the tension on the actuator (out 2.5turns) so that it drops on without having to pull it and its still running 21psi! (-31)
If you disconnect the AMAL valve the boost does drop to around 10psi.
Does anybody have any ideas as this beats the $h!t outta me!!

with having a smaller intercooler, i have heard that the boost can rise if u have been running it on a larger intercooler previously. (takes more air to reach the required pressure in the larger intercooler as the area is larger). with the amal valve removed and with a length of boost pipe join the turbo compressor housing outlet to the actuator and you should see 1bar/14psi of boost.

Ive just looped a single pipe to the actuator from the compression housing and the boost is holding 6psi. (bearing in mind the actuator has zero tension). Does this imply the AMAL valve is wankered?

I havent tried tensioning up the actuator yet, just wanted to try and rule out the AMAL valve first. Both AMAL valves are clicking like they should and i know the other one i tried works as we took it from my mates 3dr Coz. Its a real puzzler
. Going to have another mess later today to see what the crack is! Cheers for the info guys, will let you know of any developments!

Apparently after speaking with Jano, the hole in the jet was too small (2.5mm), drilled it to 4.2mm, wound a bit of tension on the actuator and its now purrrrfect!
Jus found another random problem tho, one of the loom wires has rubbed through, arc-d onto the braided turbo oil feed hose and pierced it! Now the back of the engine is covered in oil! Ferkin great! Is there no end to these problems! lol
