dont mean to sound an arse or go against the grain here but ive never replaced flywheel bolts, they arent stretch bolts like head bolts so why replace them? obvisouly the main concern is them working loose but surely thats why locktite and so on are invented? look at your new bolts and they will probably have locktite on em, just like the ones you took out of the flywheel always do, landrover never tell us to put new flywheel bolts on, and they dam sure wonnt pay for em if its warranty, so how come everyone is saying to use new ones?
and before anyone says oh well landrover arent performance cars so its different but its torque that shears bolts, and 295 lb ft at 1250rpm and 472 lb ft at peak is enough torque to me! (info is new TDV8)
im blatently missing something here though, im not posting a reply to cast a shadow over other peoples advice or to try and argue the toss over it, im asking because i want to know why are you meant to change them?
