Default Bonnet on ERST

Hi all.
My bonnet release wire has snapped (wire which runs from bottom of steering column to bonnet release), on my erst series II.
My question is does ayone know how i can get the damn bonnet open now!!
Have tried to manoeuvre my hand into the area to release a mechanism but with no luck. I can honestly say that i haven't got a clue what to try, can anyone help??

Paul.

It happened to me when i adjusted the bonnet catch to much, and it wouldnt pop off the cable.

If ya jack the front of the car up, it is possible to reach up, inbetween rad and turbo and feel for the catch and pull it by hand.

Hope that helps m8

that happend to me last week my engine packed up on me and would start so i lost my temper and pulled the catch and it snapped, cos its a turbs youve got the rad and cooler in the way, so jack the car up at the front and if you can get your arm pass the turbo you should be able to grab hold of the bracket/catch, hope this helps in any way

hi, again mine didn't snap, just came off the catch. you should be to see a black cable through your drivers side bonnet vent. all i did was undo a metal coat hanger to make it have a hook on the end, pass it through the vent, lift the cable really hard then hey presto one popped bonnet. saved me from taking the front end off.

Have fun!!!
