Default cossie map sensor problem, car switching off HELP!

i'm getting a message coming up on my secs monitor, where it says MAP

when u switch the car on and monitor starts up, it says map sensor input range fail (05)

it then says press a button to clear

its then flashing alarm, then changing the message to map then the line changes to alarm and keeps switching between both messages.

Also my car was idling the other day in my drive and then she just cut out aswell. This weirdness has all started since this message has been coming up on the monitor.

What sort of power is supposed to be coming up at the map sensor plug?

the map sensor plug has 5.0 on pin point a which is written on the map sensor itself, the middle pin is earth and is labeled b on the map sensor itself. The last pin c gets 4.6 to it.
So the plug itself has power.

does this sound like the map sensor itself being faulty?
or an ecu fault as i've been told by a few?

cheers in advance
