Fiesta Rs1800 Zetec Trouble... Smoking?
Right i have a Rs1800 engine which i fitted to my fiesta si
I fitted it a few months ago and been driving the car a few months since fitment.
Now it has never realy been perfect, as i wasnt using the right ecu, temperature sensors etc
Now i have all the right related 1.8 parts Temp sensors, ECU, but i am running a ported mondeo 2.0 TB, Power Chip Mondeo 2.0 MAF sensor
The car has been of the road for 3 weeks as i have been doing work to it, and now ive started it back up today and it has started smoking not alot but its still throwing out a puff of smoke here and there..
I dont see how valves/piston rings could have gone while the car has been stationary?
I changed the head gasket when i orignaly fitted the engine to the car so i doubt it is that.
Also flushed out the water system and renewd with clean water+anti freeze.
What could the reason be for the smoking? it has had a brand new cat fitted as my other go stolen while i was rebuilding it, could that be the problem?
Fuel Filters or plugs need changing maybe?
Any ideas anyone?
thanks matty

not the best video
but it shows what happens at idle and the smoke that comes out throught the revs
where its going up and down that isnt me with the throttle thats the way it idles when its cold, when its warmd up it does settle down so it isnt up down up down type thing
any help will be most appriciated

Er no, black smoke is overfuelling. Blue smoke is rings. That video looks like a mixture of black smoke and condensation, but it's hard to tell.
Try running the car without the MAF plugged in. Take the chip out too.

it dont think its oil related as it wasnt burning oil before i took it of the road for my strip down about 3 weeks ago, you recon it could be dodgy petrol as its been stored for 3 weeks or so?

And you could try to be a bit less arrogant in your replies too

So rather than detail the facts, I should just go along with bullshit incase someone thinks i'm arrogant? I think you need some thicker skin my dear fellow.

Just an observation of how you've come across here, wasnt saying you gave bad advice mate but you dont have to patronise people. Subject closed, give the guy his thread back.
