What Causes Boost Spike
On my 2wd saff the boost is set at approx 14 psi,but when i give it a hard time,my secs monitor flags up an over boost alarm and shows a peak of 26 psi,any body any idea,s

That is the trouble with an electronic gauges, they will capture the briefest of spike. Even if it is too short (fractions of a second) to actually register on an analogue gauge. Providing that you are not seeing this register on your normal gauge, then don't worry about it .
However, if this is what your SECS is continuously seeing, then make sure that the hose hasn't popped off your actuator giving unlimited boost .
Build the boost progressively in a tall gear from low rpm and report back what it is climbing to and at what revs. If it starts to climb above 14psi - BACK OFF. Take it to your tuner for a thorough check over. I would also point out that some NMS ("Gunship") stage 1 conversions have been live-mapped to run this kind of boost in the mid-range, so it isn't always an issue, but I would get it checked out before you lunch an engine....

Well then ignore it, its just what the map sensor sees for an instant while the actuator is responding to the boost by opening the wastegate.
Really the monitor should have a setting to decide how long a boost condition needs t be met for before it alarms.

Drive normal mike and it,s ok,quick blast with full throttle in 2nd,3rd and 4th gear,look across and alarm showing on monitor,when we fitted chip,we set boost up with manual guage,maybe have to fit it full time
