Default Quick battery to boot conversion question

Just a quickie

whats size cable should i be using to do this?

how do i go about earthing in the boot?

im i best using a junction box in the engine bay to extend the cables to the boot, or a total rewire on the positive and negative side from the start/alternator

thanks matty

I would probably replace the entire run from Battery to starter. Saves faffing about then. What ever you do, buy proper starter motor cable NOT car amp audio power cable.

For earthing in the boot - i used the spare wheel nut (it's used to hold the spare wheel in the boot of a Mk1 fiesta) and bolted a nice fat (15mm) earth lead to that. Not had any earth problems.

Oh also forgot: Merlin do the right cable you need. I'd ring them up and ask what ampages/diametre they suggest for your application.

Think i used 300A wire iirc and used some big rubber bushes under the bonnet to put the cables on to' Then a cover to stop any eathing out.. In the boot i just went down to the floor pan with a 19mm bolt'

the best cable to use is mig/arc welding cable--
put battery into a battery box(blue book!!) earth down off the post to the boot floor ,your now earthed!!!.
do you need a battery-F,I,A cut out with /without shunt???AS PER BLUE BOOK??
RALLY RACE ETC!!.
more yet but depends on your answer!!!
