right iv got an erst lump in my mk2 xr2 just trying to start it today but checked to see if its getting a spark and it isnt

what can that be down to? damp leads?

also on the dizzy housing there a 3 pin plug there, im using the rst loom one, but should i use that or the xr2's one?

had this problem with mine escort turbo. make sure all of your earths are connected all the plugs are in the right place,ecu and other think that 1s for fuel make sure they are the right way round cos they will plug in to eachother.is your fuel pump primeing should make noise if it is .hope this helps mate cos its fuckin annoying wen cant get a spark,i couldnt get mine runnin for a long time and my mate sorted it

also mate use evrythin from the escort including loom.

yeh i used the loom, got the ecu plugs the right way round,

also the pump isnt priming now as the brown relay got cought on the steering rack and riped off, but iv connected it together again and still nothing, but iv just connected the pump to the battery to by pass it sort of thing.

will go out now maybe and an extra earth etc

fuel pump relays are known to bit a bit crap and not very long lasting so may be worth a try using a new relay?

well tried a few things etc looked at some stuff, and no spark so i give up now untill i get a job or some money to buy some stuff like dizzy and relays etc

right borrowed my mates haynes for the escort, looked it up and it says how to test theres power going to the low tension on the coil. done that and there is, my little light tester light up a little bit, wasnt a powerfuly lit up though.

then too the ht lead off from the center of the dizzy and held it to the block, turned the engine over and no spark.

in haynes it doesnt say what to do with these symptoms tho lol.

any idea?

theres no fuel coming out of the injectors either lol

well just looked again turned it over with an injector out nothing coming out of it but the flap wasnt droping on the metering head, so pushed it down and some squirted out of the injector
