Default cosworth running problem

I have recently replaced my engine with a standard engine no problem, the car will start but wont idle for some reason plus when I take up the revs it kicks smoke out it seems like it is over fuelling as it is not oil smoke, plus it will back fire at low revs, I don't really no where to start??? any ideas anyone

Could be your map sensor causing it to overfuel. Check the pipe that goes to it is still on

the map sensor should have a vacuum pipe going from the sensor up to the inlet manifold, its a short pipe about 8 inches long with almost a 90 degre bend at each end,its vital for your car to run.it connects here on the inlet manifold (see arrow in pic) and the other end connects to the sensor

i had thought about the map sensor, but it wont tick over do you think it could be the cold start sensor ? i have now disconnected the pipe from the top of my dump valve and it will just tick over but still over fueling.... i might just blow the f***** up...

If the map sensors failed its unlikely to idle correctly due to the excess fuel.

The extra air is leaning off teh excessively rich mixture and moving teh load site nearer to 1 bar absolute in teh fuel map.
