Default car revs by itself!.....any ideas

Have a saff 4x4 '90.When its at running temp everythings mint, however starting from cold, car will occasionally rev by itself, it spikes straight to 2k sits there for a second, then drops back to idle. Also when driving car cold it hesitates, as if my discs are warped badly and catching(this has been checked and is not the case).
I have changed some parts, ie leads,d/cp,r/arm,coil.Have also eliminated TPS, all of this makes the car a whole lot better......but only when its warmed up. Any suggestions much appreciated, been driving me nuts for months now

get your co2 checked if ur running lean then car will fluctuate at idle until warm when the idle valve wont be needed as much

Steve, it's a blue sensor just to the left of the coolant hose, that comes of the back of the head going to the oil cooler, behind/round about the dipstick.

Bit of a bitch to get to... but defo sounds like your problem.
