Anyone know why a rs turbo would be an absolute pig to start? u turn it over and over and it starts on the 1st go kinda thing puffs an chugs but don't stay running.
However if u tow start it as your olling it will start but if u try and press the accelerator it kinda suffocates and cuts out. Starts up again but it do't likt to be rev'd until its warmed up abit and then goes straight away no problems.
any ideas? Theres no air leaks and once its running, it runs fine and doesn't stall or anything like that once it warmed up and started running for a few mins

Could be a number of things
First thing to check is that theres a fuse in the heated seat slot in the fuse box as alot of people take them out thinking they dont need them but they do as it has something to do with the fuel ECU. The next thing is the cold start valve remove it from the inlet (leaving the red fuel line connected obviously) and get yourself a clear container put the coldstart valve in the container and get someone to crank the engine over if you get fuel out then thats fine
if thats ok then the next thing to check is the auxilary air device get the car ticking over then crimp one of the pipes if the revs drop then it could be faulty.

the fuse is still there. have fuel coming through cold start valve
the auxillary air device has the 2 had plastic pipes that connect to it, is that right? how would u crimp them without cracking them?
cheers

If you dont want to risk breaking the pipe (they are quite robust tho) try and find a bit of pipe the same size you can change if for to test the valve. When the engine is cold the revs should drop BUT when it's warmed up the engine speed should not be affected so the best time to test it is when the engine is cold.
