transit duratorq 51 plate
yeh already seen were they pin them i have pinned them up but didnt do the bottom as i was using the tool on another van, the problem i have is that some one in the work shop has moved the bottom pulley whilst we have been waiting for the new chain and tensioner and guides so now the bootm is out i have check the ford tsb manual and it say 50 degrees btdc but how do i find this out with out renmoving the head
hum, does the chain not have coloured links that represent where the timing marks are. Quite often as a rule if the crank pulley has a keyway then that is straight up when at TDC. Thats a bit of a do dah you are in. Perhaps you could take an injector out and but a rod down the hole and see where tdc is using that and then set it with a protractor ( you laugh ive seen it done and the engine ran well) but would only work if its direct injection, i.e doesnt go into a combustion chamber.
yeh i have aligned the coloured links on the chain but they only do the cam pulleys and the deisel pump not the bottom pulley, i did think about doing that with a a rod, there is no pin on the bottom pulley either its is a pain in the arse
