hi

i have a set of black injectors that flow 690cc @ 4 bar and they are 12 0hm. these should be ok on an L8 ecu shouldnt they?

i don't know about the l8 ecu but if it is similar to teh l6 then no the 12 ohm injectors are not a good idea. the ecu is set up to use low impedence injectors which are usually around 2 ohms. even the bosch 803's that are used for th standard upgrades are at the top edge of what should be used with the ecu at 4 to 4.5 ohms.

now this is based totally on my electronics background and not on any experience with the cosworth ecus at all. take it how you will.

The easy way is to just measure what is on there at the moment and then measure the new ones.
Just bunmg a metre set on OHM's on the two pins/terminals in the injector, and measure.
As a guide LOW IMPEDANCE = 1-5 OHM
HIGH IMPEDANCE = 12-16 ohm

if i remember right, you can use high impedance injectors with a low impedance ecu, but they will operate slower. however if you try to use low impedance injectors with a high impedance ecu then you will burn up the transistors in the ecu.

Unless you use a resistor in each earth line to each injector!!
