OFAC EFi problems - won't run with CTS connected
Hi Guys,
I've got a Mk3 Escort that was running a 16i EFI setup with a Mk4 EFi loom. It was all running perfectly until I decided to fit a FRST lump using OFAC management.
I've had terrible trouble getting it to run. I've got the correct OFAC MAP sensor and Charge Temperature sensor. I've also has to move an earth wire in the ECU plug because it was in the wrong place. All of the other pins seem correct - I have checked them against an OFAC loom I have.
It will start, but runs really lumpy. If you try and drive it it hesitates and jerks and you can't get it to go over 10MPH! I've checked the values of all of the sensors and they seem correct. However if I unplug the coolant temperature sensor it drives almost normally. The engine revs well and comes onto boost fine.
I've checked the mixture using a gas analyser I have and it seems about right. I've plugged in a fault code reader and it complains about the AMAL valve being missing but not really anything else.
Has anyone got any idea why it would run so well without the coolant temp sensor connected, yet hardly run at all with it plugged in?
Cheers
Mark
