hi my saff has got a bloody misfire again. when i hit about 6100 rpm it misfires a bit like hitting a rev limiter.
last time this happened bout 4 months ago i put on new group a coil, plugs, leads, distributor cap, rotor arm, fuel filter and 044 fuel pump and its been perfect at 22 psi stage 3.
now today its developed this misfire ?
im thinking either phase sensor or crankshaft sensor ? but i dont know im guessing. anyone had this happen to them or any ideas much appreciated. thanks

 

just to clarify the car only misfires at 6100 rpm in any gear just like a rev limiter, i know its not rev limiter though as it used to do 110 in third no problems now it will only do 100 then misfire.

 

What plug gap are you running, what leads are you using.
Can't see it being the sensors as only at this engine speed.

hi mate im running c57cs at 24 thou gap, i dont know what make leads are there 8mm i think.

 

right i checked plugs had to close them the tiniest amount then checked cps clearance was 16 thou, so ive set it at 31 thou.
misfire is now at 6500 on rev clock and 105 mph in 3rd gear. or is my rev clock lying does that sound about right for standard drivetrain ?
