okay been told that fuel reley is under dash(drivers side)and its a pinky colour?i cant find 1 like this?i only have 4,1 is green the second is light blue the third is dark blue and the fourth is green please help as i cant get fuel 2 my engine but the fuel pump still primes

okay cool coz just finished a xr3i turbo conversion but it wont start it sounds like it wants 2 but doesnt.i tested the plugs and they are all ok.i took the fuel pipe of 2 c if it was getting fuel and it is,then i took the pipes of the distributer 2 the injector but no fuel coming through (also sound like its misfiring

 

just follow the fuel system and see how far the fuel goes,perhaps its your metering unit,fuel filter or no resistance at the injectors or ecu not telling the injectors to inject

Since when has a S2 fuel pump relay been in the fuse box??????

The relay has probably been changed and isn't pink anymore (i have some black ones)

It will be the tallest relay out of the lot, and SHOULD be in a pink relay holder.

 

THATS WHAT I AM SAYING I CANT FIND A PINKY RELAY HOLDER JUST THE ONES I SAYS,I ONLY HAVE 4

 

also does the fuel pump prime without a relay?

 

Fuel pump wont work without a relay, not like that anyway.

Get me a picture of the relays up there

not sure of the black? maybe fuel relay 80% sure
others are heated front screen, e/w and c/l
trace the wire back take of the side trim and do the wires match?

its the black one Holder is more purple than pink though so thats where the confusion has come from

is there another part of the loom that clips onto this that i dont have???

duno, if you have the dash out it could well be the electric mirror switch plug.

 

okay cool this is the only wire behind the dash not plugd in yeah,just cant get the thing 2 fire up,there is a spark and its getting fuel 2 the fuel filter(can i check the injectors to c if they are getting fuel?)or am i been stupid thanks for your help

 

You sure you haven't got a pipe off somewhere?

or the oil filler cap? Oil dipstick?

 

im like 90% sure but i will double check just to make sure,if there was an air leak would it misfire when trying to start?coz it sounds like it when starting

 

air leaks may stop it from starting because the flap won't move properly when you crank, meaning its not getting enough fuel.

Have you pulled that cold start injector plug off yet

 

no i havnt is that the blue plug at the back

well stop faffing about and get it off

 

ok no luck just took it off just sounds the same

 

check and see if the flap bobs up and down when you crank the engine over then

 

okay just had a look and it does

Have you had the plugs out recently? They could be fouled up from all the starting attempts

 

yeah they were black but cleaned them up they are all sparking,im lost now

 

is there any way i can test 2 see if fuel is getting to the injectors?
