Default COULD BE A SILLY QUESTION BUT.....

When the fan turns on is it supposed to suck in cold air or suck out the hot air

The idea is to suck the cold air through the radiator, thereby cooling the water within the radiator. It tries to simulate driving conditions, when air is naturally forced through the radiator, thereby cooling the water. (I’m assuming that you’re talking about the radiator fans?)

Are you sure? When the fans come on, put a small plastic bag on the radiator front, but don’t cover the whole radiator, and if the bag gets sucked on, then it’s working OK, and if blown out then not. I can’t see how the fans can be reversed, as the electrical plugs should only fit on one way. What car are you experiencing this problem on?

Cheers
John

it may well appear its blowing the wrong way its on as air deflects off the radiator.

Pretty sure its supposed to spin clockwise as you look at it
