hi i have a 2.0 turbo i start it and it smokes and then when its warmed up it stops smokeing and on idel thers no smoke but when you rev it you get a cloud of smoke and then it idels with no smoke if you keep the revs up then it will smoke all the time let it idel agfine and smokes gone what is it helpppppppppppppppp

it wount smoke on idel but it smokes when you rev it so can that still be stem seals or is it rings

 

do you still get the smoke when the turbo cust in? i would say rings,

but DO a comp test 1st, have you just serviced the car??

yea its when the turbo cuts in if you rev it on the spot it smokes and from the breather pipe the a bit of smoke to i think its rings what do you think

 

from wot you say i would go with piston rings & if the breather is spitting out shit too but do a comp test as i said they are only £15 from halford & will not take you long & may track it down to the offending cylinder

 

i would say turbo seals are on way out and its driping in to exhaust side just check turbo free play if it aint running bad i woundnt rings or it would have picked up by now and put the piston oil the oil filter

 

comprsion is ok and any way it wouldnt show on the test as it will not show if th oil ring ia fucked only if comprision is down i hear what your saying but comprsion can still be good even if the oil ring is fucked ..ohh and if you lift the dip stick up it spits out oil and if you rev it with out the dip stick you can end up coverd in oil please ho many people say ring s i do and how many say turbo i will carry out work acorrdingly to the amount of people that say turbo or ring so come on people give your vote

after when you let the car run for about 10 min it stops smoking and when you rev it to about 7 k it smokes a bit out the back but it does get better once left runnig could that still be rings
