Default Zetec problems

This is about an Escort Wagon 1.8 105hp. The problems usually occur right after its warmed up. Especially out of low revs its hessitant, and when its like that and I put my foot down it has a tendacy of completely dying untill you let up off the throttle and give it some more very gently. After it gets going tho it revs very nicely with no hessitation. However once you get back to a constant speed it will begin to hessitate again.
Sometimes after it has done this and i have it sitting in the driveway running idle it will smell of unburnt fuel and it wont run smooth, bit up and down in revs.
I've allready been to Ford to have the ECU read for faults, but they couldn't find any. And ofcourse at the time it was there it behaved pretty well.

Sofar the ISCV has been cleaned (due to the idle problems) and the TPS, MAF and lambda sensors have been replaced by known working parts. Plugs and leads are brandnew, DIS has also been replaced with a known working part. But still the problems persist.

I hope i explained it clearly enough for someone to have a brilliant (working ) solution, cause i'm running out of ideas myself. Thanks in advance.

Could all this be caused by a simple fuelfilter? But if it was that how come when its at speed there is no fault to be discovered? Normally i would say that when it needs more fuel then it can get due to a clogged filter it should give more problems?

You have changed sensors, but have you checked the electrical conections are all good?

Ok, from now on I won't underestimate a fuel filter ever again .
Looks like your first guess was right djmillsy . Changed out the fuel filter yesterday (the one that tought it up to put it under the car should be shot) took a testdrive and the problems seemed to be gone apart from 2 little hicups at low revs.
Took another drive today, chucked in another bottle of injectioncleaner to get rid of any residue from the dodgy filter and it still runs perfect.

So a big thank you for your efforts and suggestions guys
