Its not idle speed control as you know it though, it operates off engine heat aswell as having an internal heater, so it would take quite some time to open back up after switch off.

hi guys,
I have put the new ecu in and i get sparks in the dizzy cap!! but the car still doesn't start

I have now changed the plugs to see if this helps.
When i crank the engine over i get a pop out the exhaust and on one time it tryed to start.

I guess its down to the basics again.
check ht leads and firing order to make sure i haven't put it on wrong.

The lead order is........1 2..........as you look from the end?
................................ 3 4

Oh the other thing my brand new battery is dead every to days even without use. I beleive this is down to my new halfords charger which seems to like fuses and has now melted one into its holder( but it still works .)

it has immob and alarm but it was left 2 weeks before and still started. It was only sunday night that it was fully charged but it was totally dead this morning.
Im going to take the battery to work tomorrow and see what the tester we have says. The charger is going back aswell.
I dont know, you reccomend halfords gear to customers and then you get yours home and it doesn't work!

Good news is that the engine started on the first turn and thats all that matters.

Buy a DECENT battery, spend a few quid and get one with a good name on the label, every halfords battery i have been in contact with has been a piece of shit!

If your car has been sat for long periods with the battery disconnected the sirens internal battery may now be knackered, and flatening the cars battery.
