Pulse-width modulation stops the ecu boosting more than 8psi or so. Plus they do a few other things aswell i think

Just a fancy term to describe what they all do.
It is not standard as there is no DIL there either, a socket that allows the use of plug in EPROM's(chips) as opposed to solderend ones.

No DIL? No Dual In-Line?

antony215, the PWM stops the ecu ever seeing more than 8 psi, the dizzy is used to set the maximum ignition advance on boost, crude but effective

As with most things on the RS, if you fit something like this you also get the plasure of visitng a tuner and parting with some more cash

Wouldnt advise fitting it without having it on a rolling road mate, otherwise it will be headgakset failure at the very bare minimum.
