3dr cossie owners - replacing header tank with brand new one

Default 3dr cossie owners - replacing header tank with brand new one

hi peeps,

jus been to ford to collect my new header tank for my 3door..

the header tank i got is an upgrade to the original item.. it has an extra pipe outlet, but no hole for the water level gauge.. just wondered what everyone has done in this situation?? i want to keep the gauge if possible.. one of the blokes in ford's said put a hole in it and plastic weld the boss for the gauge in the tank...

any help would we great

thats a 4wd header tank, you just need a hose from the 4wd to connect the top large hose to the turbo outlet, then do away with the level sensor, I don't think cutting and welding it would be feasable really as would have to join perfect due to pressure,

yeah thats what i thought, might be a bit iffy

doing away with it tho, wont that keep the warning light on

shame really wanted to keep it so its all origianl and in full working order

Why not go for aftermarket stainless tank?

not after a bling'd up bay mate, standard looking as possible.. only non standard tank ill have is a pro alloy breather system, but thats getting powder coated

I doubt it but it might seal with DOWTY WASHERS on it if you do cut in the level sensor.
Just bridge the wires and it will keep the light off, as I am sure it detects open circuit to illuminate light.

bridging wire don't work, it need a resistor to keep the light off, just measure resistance with sensor held in full position then short a resistor close to this value in the plug, thats what I did when I tried a 4x4 header tank, I have since however managed to get a good 3 door one so have changed back hope this helps
