Cossie central locking
Hi i'm having problems with my central locking,it works fine on the key but when trying to use my alarm key fob it just locks then unlocks straight away.Tried using the passenger side lock on the key and it gives the same symtoms as the key fob,my mate reckons its the opposite side thats the problem(drivers door)has anyone else had the same trouble?
It usually is the other side as this is used less and tends to seize up more as a result.
It souinds as though it is not acheiving FULL TRAVEL on one of the lock mechanisms, so it thinks it should still be locked and sends a locked signal.
You need to take of the door panle etc and unseize the locks and or rods, the oe lock motor has not got suffecient pull in short space of time to overcome stuck bit most likely just some coppaslip on lock components will cure it, I would go for passenger side first.

Buggered if I know then, small bit of black paint on symbol ?, to block it out.
The warning light bits I think use REED RELAYS to detect current flow but not too clued up on electronics, probably going to be a new bit costing millions, if you can get it!!

Watch the levers when you lock the door...
My old Sierra LX's did this, and it's usually the passenger front that appears to sieze. Operating the lever (opening the door from the inside
) is usually enought to sort it.
Also, don't rule out the boot lid's lock - if it's slightly 'out' it won't lock and will re-cycle the system. Doors that aren't shut properly or misaligned can also induce this problem.

reseat the cluster multiplug connectors, and reseat all the bulbs.
The system's designed to be able to tell the difference between a short and an open circuit.
Tried that reseating connector and bulbs but no joy, just out of curiosity, indicator single element, next one(moving towards centre of car)double element, next one single fog light, inside one reverse light single element yeah?
Indicator (outer most) is single.
Next inwards is the sidelight/foglight - twin filament.
Next is the reverse light - single.
Next (inner most) is the brake light - single filament.
