how to wire up a ignition circuit on a mk 4 1.6 cvh non injection, lucus distributor

i have the loom section that goes from the distributor to the coil and then to the fuel cut off solinoid that is on the carb just wondering what the wire from the multiplug has to be connected to i have a brown wire a green\brown wire a green wire and a black wire, the car has no loom in it at all so i just want to be able to wire it up to get it running as its only a hotrod

i no there is a negative and a positive but its just were the green\brown wire and green wire

Shit sorry mate forgot to reply.

if i remember correctly, you have 3 wires

Black, Brown, and Green.

black = 12v ignition feed
brown = earth
Green = you'll need to disconnect the current green wire off the coil and connect this and this only to it.

You'll also have to bridge the fuel pump relay, as the pump won't run otherwise

this is just for a normal 1.6 mk4 carbed escort lx mate i have the black the brown and the green and also a green and brown wire all these were in a multi plig down by the front cross menember

I posted what you asked for.......... you have to bridge the fuel pump relay as its a tachometric relay and obviously won't be getting a signal.

Do exactly as ive posted above and it will work.......and for gods sake dont even spool the turbo up!

it isn't for the rs turbo mate its just for a standard 1.6 carbed escort estate on a f reg so it has a mechanical fuel pump that is driven off of the cam , the rs is being recovered back on wednesday

Ah fuck! lol..........where did i get that idea.

regardless then the wiring is the same, you'll also want to connect the green wire for the rev counter (on the assumption it has one) to the green on the coil, with a suppressor inline

ok mate no worries i will give it ago, its just the green\brown wire that got me as i dont no were that one would go it was in the multi plug that was down by the inner wing that jioned this loom into the car loom

right ok in the multi plug that is at the end of the loomdown by the inner wing on the head light there is a black wire i would say this is for 12V igntion feed, there is a brown wire which would be earth, there is a green wire which i would say went to the rev counter at some piont but were do i connect it now and the last wire is a green wire with a brown trace throw it were does this one go now
