Default Non Starting s2 Please help

Hi ppl
I'm having a problem with my rst s2.
it won't start, i've replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump relay as these were not working. Now i get fuel through to the fuel distributor but nothing through to the injector pipes.
has anybody any ideas what could be causing this?

thanks in advance

Now........my first question, was the pump new or second hand.

And, when you crank the car over, is the flap on the metering head bobbing up and down?

The pump was new, and the flap bobs up and down. the fuel is getting through to the distributor but when i took an injector pipe off and cranked it over holding the flap down a little bit, fuel came out but at a very slow rate as if from a tap, i thought it should be like a spray of fuel?

What happens if you push the flap right down? It sprays proportionally.

If i push the flap all the way down it still doesn't spray but the fuel comes out more. haven't tried it with a bridge on the pump yet though. this is just while cranking.

Well aslong as the pumps running it shouldnt make much difference.

The fuel should come out at high pressure really, seeing as the injectors won't open until the pressure exceeds 3 bar!!

I still have a problem getting the car started.
Had the fuel distributor off and cleaned it up, this has sorted the problem with the fuel going to the injectors and the pressure is good.
when i switch the ignition on and the pump primes the fuel distributor makes a strange noise like an old kettle boiling but when an injector pipe is cracked it stops, is this air in the system? if so how can i get rid of it?
also now the car turns over very slowly, maybe the starter is goosed now?

is your fuel filter clean if not this can cause a restriction in the flow
check all fuel pipes for kinks like the fuel pump pipe can twist when fitting
the ones on the metering head can kink quite easily
silly question you do have a bit of petrol in the car ie around 1/2 a tank lol

check the flow when priming the pump with the ignition on by the fuel pump it should be loads be careful tho
connect back fuel pipe ,then check before the fuel filter when priming should be loads ,then check after fuel filter when priming ,check the pipe from the fuel filter to the a/f meter the small one if these are all good then with the ignition on check that the flap has a bit of resistence when pushing it down

I remived the fuel distributor and took it apart. cleaned it all out and re-fitted it. this has cured the fault of fuel to injectors, the pressure is there now and the injectors now work fine. now i think i have air still in the system which i will bleed later today after work. i didn't mess with the bottom half of the metering unit with the flap though. not sure if it is good to do this?
some one on here may know more.

SafeChav I've just got hold of a working 2nd hand Metering unit and starter motor from a good friend, i'm fitting these today, so fingers crossed it should fire up if al goes well. compared to my metering unit there is resistance in the flap which is good.
i will post later and let you know the result.

Cheers

There should be no resistance what so ever in the flap if theres no fuel pressure in it, if there is thats probably knackered
