more than likely the heater matrix is blocked! try taking the 2 pipes off the bulk head and try a hose pipe through it to see how good it flows through!

centre console out back gearbox mount off to get to the water pipes. centre vents out undo the dash board so you can pull it off a bit.but leave dash clocks in etc. and there is a steel bracket plate, behind the dash 4 bolts undo that, then you can pull the heaterbox down. two nuts hold the heater box in,pull it down, just a little to get the heater matrix out,it slides out. its not easy, shit job to do.

Your tellin me you have to drop the rear engine mount out to do a heater matrix..........

Never!

The mount isn't even that close to the matrix, and the rear mount is a right cunt to get off! fuck that!

try reverse flushing with a hosepipe and watch the sh-t come out!!! chances are its just a build up of crap, reverse flushing in general removes it,
DONT DO IT ON THE DRIVE!!! IT GETS INTO THE TARMAC/BLOCKS AND IS A BITCH TO GET OUT!!!!!!!!

Default blocked heater matrix on my escort tdi?

thanks for the advice everyone, going to put some coolent flush in today, then this afternoon will back flush it, since changing the thermostat there is a little bit of heat but not a lot. so hopefully should get some results, now descovered that i have a rear wheel bearing gone, never done one of these how easy will it be???

if its got a mtx75 gearbox in then yes you have to take the back mount off as there is no room at all to get the matrix pipes off, also the turbo and intercooler is at the rear so no room to get your hands in, if you have done one you will know .
