Enigine stall after boost
Hello everyone, im new here so i'll let u know what the car is running first to help you solve the problem, if you can.
At the moment, mahle low comp pistons, stage 1 head, stage1 turbo technics turbo, piper fast road cam, 16psi boost, all performance plugs leads etc. 195 chip. 160bhp.
Now i think the car is over fueling as when i boost up in it, say in between speed bumps, then dip the clutch back in when stoping the revs fall right down and somtimes the engine cuts off all together. the more i boost up the more the chances are it will cut off. I also get a really strong petrol smell and the car only does 70 miles to £20.
With the mods done so far, would i be right in thinking it should be running around the 180bhp figure?
I had this problem on my last rst and always thought it was the dump valve. the only other problems i could think of was a vacume leak in one of the pipes.
I was reading somewhere thou, to disconect the pipe from the turbo to the actuator and plug it of the turbo end, then plum a new pipe in from the actuator to the charge carrier pipe.
Any ideas on what might be the problem?

Sounds like yours is faulty.
If its the correct type, the 2nd piston may be sticking.
If its a diaghragm type, its wrong anyway and WILL cause these problems.
Let us know the outcome please to help others.

its definatly a twin piston, ive had problems with dump valves sticking before, sticking that bad that they didnt even dump. I took them apart and oiled them up a little with bike chain oil (only oil i had lying around)
I'll try it on this one and let you know how i get on. Ive heard of a few people having this problem so hopefully i'll be able to solve it for everyone.

Dont try oiling it mate... cut to the chase.. remove it from the car completely.
DONT just pull the top pipe off, as this doesnt help with these symptoms..
If the problem goes away, then of course you can try to overhaul it.
