Default XR3i Brake FLuid

For my '89, mk4, mfi, Escort Xr3i, whats my best brake fluid to use? i'm not sure of which DoT rating to use!? In the process of doing all the brakes, thinking of going along the lines of EBC turbo grooved discs, greenstuff pads, braided hoses etc, anyone any thoughts/ recommendations?

They would of come with DOT 4.1 from the factory, 5.1 is better if you can afford it but it may npot be necessary.

EBC brakes are shit dont waste your money.

That is fucking shit. If i had one pad fail i would never buy them again, if all 4 failed i think i would probably try my luck at suing them

Really are they that bad? I've heard a lot of good stuff about them aswell, such as awards etc. Can i definetly use DoT 5.1? Theres a good fluid that is that rating that is apparently designed to repell water rather than absorb it.

A high boiling point DOT4 will be better than a DOT5.1 - look for the boiling point figures on the bottle / tin.

But all the rest is good advice.

I wont under any circumstances touch Green Stuff
