I'm just converting my car to run on a 3 pin Zetec Coil Pack.

Firstly, can anyone confirm for me which pins are which (ie cyl no, earth)

Secondly, anyone out there sell the wiring plug or is it case of going to the scrappy and getting one?

 

the central pin should be +12V, the pins either side are the ECU triggers for the coils, either 1&4 or 2&3

get the plug from a scrap yard - or try PMing Ryan (he may have them)

Ok guys, got the coilpack all wired up, car was was running spot on but after a few miles got a really bad misfire. On inspection the coilpack has cracked underneath, its either defective or there's a problem elsewhere.

Do the Zetecs run external amps?

 

Anybody else needing coilpack connections, PM me I have em in stock

 

Zetecs run Fords EDIS system where it's either external to the ecu (the processor and amps are in one self contained unit) or they are internal to the ecu.
