Default Fiesta RS Turbo engine problems

Hi all,

Iv just bought a Fiesta RS turbo,

1.6
Stage 3 head
Piper cam and pulley
T3
Beige injectors
Mahle pistons
Grs Intercooler and radiator
201 bhp at 15si

However im having a few small problems with it,

Wondering if anyone can help,

Engine was rebuilt 3000 miles ago.

When i start it up there is no smoke wot so ever and runs great, but when it starts to warm up the radiator gets hot very quickly, i think this is due to having no thermostat? which im getting this week.
Steam comes out of the breather filter off the rocker box.
The engines starts to run lumpy and sometimes cuts out.
Also when the head gasket was last changed i dont think he has flushed the oil and coolant properly as there is mayo in the breather.
I think the head gasket is ok, as its a felpro one and only been on for 3000 miles, its not over heating and there is no mayo in the sump.
The radiator fans are on a manual switch, the lad said he was sick of buying relays so just put it on manual, should i get the fans wired back up to a relay?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Michael.

had a similar prob with my last frst.. turned out to be a crack in the head so no smoke from breather on start up but once heated up the crack opened up and pumped steam out the breather...

Hi there, the radiator will tend to warm up quickly, as the turbo is right behind it and thats getting hot straight away. If the thermostat was missing the car would take "longer" to warm up, as the water isn't being held in the head for a short period of time until the thermostat opens.

As for the lumpy running when warm, and steaming breather, think u need to do a bit of investigating, take the breathers off & pipes and flush and clean them if neccessary. It might be a bit of hot oil vapour coming out.
