My injectors are not pulsing when i turn the car over to start what can cause this??bad earth etc where shall i start or what should i test first and its not the ecu,crank shaft sensor,3 bar map sensor.I really hope someone knows what it is .any info will be a great help.

 

I would say crank sensor, what makes you think it's not?? Check all 4 lugs are on the bottom pulley (the ones the crank sensor reads off!!)


Really sounds like something to do with crank sensor, but also check the phase sensor and gap, (the one inside the dizzy) could be that too.

 

iv tried the crank sensor on another cossie.But even if the front pulley only had three lugs would this stop the injectors pulsing totaly?And does the phase sensor have anything to do with the injectors pulsing?

 

the injectors with the ignition on should have 12v going to them from pin 20 on the ecu, and if not then well defo when the engine is being cranked on the starter.each injector has the same 12v from a single supply. they are earth pulsed individually through
pin 35 no 1
pin 32 no 2
pin 33 no 3
pin 18 no 4
this is the first thing to check

big thanks for all your help and i did recieve the wiring diagram .I never knew how the crank pulley worked .I will try and get it running at the weekend.I tested the injector plugs and there is no voltage.

 

Someone on here had a lug missing from the bottom pulley, same prob as you.

The injectors will not fire if there is anything wrong with the crank signal, a way to check is listen for the fuel pump working on cranking, as that also wont work if no crank signal The phase and crank signals need to be synchronised before the ecu allows fuel and spark, so something could be wrong with that and or, as well.

 

i'd check phase sensor as i had a similar prob

 

Thanks for everyones help changed crank sensor and phase sensor still would not start.

found the main live blue/red wire had a break fixed and all runs fine
