Default Rev counter problem

Basically i've bought a Fiesta Turbo with a cosworth engine conversion. Its the black one that was on e-bay.

My problem is that the rev counter doesnt work full stop. The guy i bought it from said that due to different coilpacks between the standard FRST and cossie meant that the counter wouldnt read properly and hense waseant wired up so i am wondering is there a solution to this atall?

Thanks in advance,

Colin.

Id also like to know if there is a way around this.

I've just bought Gracelands E30cosworth, which runs a coilpack, and apparently the wiring is in place for the speedo, but it doesn't work.

I presume its the same problem you're having?

if all else fails you could fit a separate rev counter. take a feed for it from the coil wire in the power and earths and away you go.

Can i power my standard BMW rev counter that way?

Also, my SECs monitor reads half on the rev counting department, i'm told this is due to the coilpack conversion, is there anything i can do about that?

If i can, i might have to try and figure out where the wiring for it goes now...
