just wiring my erst engine into my mk2 fiesta the fuel is getting to the metering unit but only going to the cold start valve ive tried running the pump holding down the flap and cracking one of the pipes off but get nothing when you turn it over it almost starts but then backfires and stops ( might just be ignition timing) but its just the cold start valve whi8ch is giving it the petrol. its got a spark. could this to be due to the sensors on the inlet and below there are 5 of them but i only know 2 for sure
green- to knock sensor
brown- to brown sensor in middle of inlet below cold start
blue-?
black?
yellow-?
the 3 sensors are the
the cold start valve
the one right under the manifold
and the one next to the inlet on the water pipes
any hinput would be great cant wait to get it running thanks

Blue = Cold start valve
Yellow = Coolant Temp Sensor
Brown = Thermo Time Switch
Black = Auxiliary Air Device
Green = Knock sensor
You should get fuel to the injectors, bridge the pump so it runs, and push the flap gently to see if u get fuel at the injectors then

cheers mate big help is there anything electronic in the way that could stiop fuel getting to the injectors ie fuel cut off solenoid in the meter there are two sensors on it which i dont know are ( left my manual in aberdeen)
Not really, the car should start even if something electrically is at fault although it will be tricky, you need to see if you can get fuel out of the injectors, which can only happen with the pump running and the flap being depressed, if the flap isn't depressed it won't send fuel to the injectors.
Try that manually first, and the two bits on the metering head, are the flap position sensor, and the EMFPA (electro magnetic fuel pressure actuator)

yeah thats the next thing to try frain the oil and fill with new check compression then a bit of oil down the bores if its low just to see if it will run
my friends car filled the sump with petrol ended up being the a/f meter buggered
drained the oil & petrol out, fitted another a/f ,meter and it started on the button
