Hi people
just new to the site. I bought an RS Turbo last night.
However I have a problem with it. Runs good, smooth etc but when you open it full throttle is just closes down, if you hold the foot down it will hardly go over 1500 rpm, its like its on a VERY low rev limiter. it does it in any gear, its weird cause it runs sound apart from that - as I say, its only when its on FULL throttle
any suggestions would be mush appreciated
cheers

It's the hose from the metering head to the turbo thats going to be collapsing if this is the problem. They're always a bit kinked anyway cos its such a funny angle, and when the turbo starts sucking the air they collapse.
You could try putting a jubille clip in the middle of the hose to help retain its shape and take it for a test drive, if that makes sense?

its not chipped, tuned etc mate just running standard at the moment. Is there a way i can check the throttle position sensor myself?
also, how does over boot protection work? sorry im new to turbos, still doing alot of reading about them.
Its still the original amal valve etc so I dont think the boost has ever been tampered with
cheers for helping

RodgeRS_Turbo, boost limit only happens when you are running 10/11psi of boost.
See if you can find a way to support the hose and see if it happens then, sounds exactly like it to me

Samco's will never go a miss and they look pretty too
Boost gauges....easy
You will see a hose off the top of the plenum as you say, and it will run behind the heater box. Tee into that, and you will also find an un-used grommet in the bulkhead right by the hose aswell.
MAKE SURE you fasten the hoses to the t piece, cable ties would be ideal

i doubt it the fuel pump do make funny noises but they either make tyhe car run or not run ! so if your cars running then the pumps fine!
just go and have it set up m8 it will sort out all your problems!
