Default Reprogramming a wireless key fob for a Ford Puma

Can anyone help with the reprogramming of a key fob for my wife's Puma
I have reprogrammed the fob to start the car but cannot get the remote to work for the locking/unlocking of the doors.
I have tried a method from the Internet which was to turn the ignition on and off 4 times then press the lock button until the open door buzzer sounded and the fog lamp switch lamp illuminated, you then pull the key out of the ignition and it should work......when I tried this method I could not get the door buzzer to activate.... can anyone help?...thanks

Phil The above resync method that you have mentioned is the correct proceedure how many keys do you have that have fobs built in ?

Ignition on and off in quick consession untill chime sounds press lock unlock button in sucsesseion ....................... If you have a second key you will have to carry out the same proseedure immediatly after the 1st key to programme ........

Doug, thanks for the reply I will try the fast on/off of the ignition until the buzzer works ... I only have a new key fob which requires reprogramming which I purchased from Ford to day.....the old key fob still works although it does require a lot of effort on the buttons
